How do I get rid of my beer belly and man boobs? — Digital Spy
Cardio to start with. Go for a run, bike ride, etc. More specifically you need to do chest press, fly's, push ups and bench press. Take a pic of them and put them on the fridge, you will see them everytime you reach for the icecream or coke! The correct medical term for this disease is gyneocomastia. Weight loss definitely helps, but in some cases you can be average weight and still suffer from 'moobs'.
Too much beer, crap food and no exercise is coming back to haunt me in a big way!!! You can only have moobs if your fat, get skinny they will go. Not true I'm sitting across from one right now. Oops nevermind it was just a woman with really short hair LOL. I have man boobs and I am pretty thin. I just live with it now and think "hell yea I got my own jugs to play with". That's not always correct. Some moobs are fat I agree, but some are actually breast tissue and losing weight will not make that go away, only surgery will.
It can be caused by too much estrogen in males, and adipose tissue fat is estrogenic. If you've got them One could super glue them together to make one big omega man boob. You can't lose fat in a specific part of your body without surgery. Like most have said, cutting back on junk food alone can help you lose fat in overall percentage in your body.
I'm eating a lot less and healthier compared to 12 months ago. They're still a tad noticeable but it's probably due muscle from all the weights and push ups I did to get rid of them a long long time ago. And get some exercise, but have a goal in mind. Unless you start running to catch the bus or something Pushups for tone and stack on the weights and do some incline benchpress! A lot of people seem to try to lose weight by changing the types of food they eat drastically. This can help certainly if you are mostly eating junk, but for a lot of people the issue is portion size.
You likely won't have to switch to eating carrots to lose weight, but you might want to look at how big a dinner you're serving yourself up.
Exercise is of course also important for health, but in terms of weight loss, unless you are doing an absurd amount, it is secondary to eating behaviours as the below numbers will demonstrate. Thanks to the people with relevant and helpful replies. I asked the question as I was hoping to get some sensible answers and useful information from people that may have some insight into the issue.
At least I am actually recognising something needs to be done before it gets out of control. Eat a healthy diet, avoiding processed foods and starchy carbohydrates, participate in regular varied exercise including cardio, compound lifts and mobility work. Unless it's gynecomastia, getting your diet in check and working out are your new best friends.
Simply head over to Google, search for a calorie intake calculator, and then find something you can relatively accurately track calories with. There's not much to it. Try browsing forums like bodybuilding. There can be a lot of obnoxious people on there at times, but there are also some who are extremely helpful. Your not overweight then. More muscle tone is probably what will help most, it will stretch the pec area skin out with firm muscle rather than jiggly soft mounds behind the nipples.
When building muscle concentrate on a diet of good food, not much limitation on the quantity, so long as it is good stuff. The beers have to go, an occasional treat only. I have had this for ten years and it is still there even when i am quite slim. I'm currently pushing towards my all time heaviest so I have decided to stop this bullshit and just get plastic surgery.
Even when I get down to mid 70s they are still there. Currently 91kg so I have to do something drastic. You have to see a plastic surgeon for it. If it is caused by medical condition then there are Medicare rebate. Cost varies so you need to ask. I know that i had my testosterone levels checked about about ten years ago when i was about 20 because of i was worried i might be deficient but I was told my levels were all fine. If you are 91kg, but can be mid 70s and "only" 'quite slim' then that means you area virtually 20kg overweight right now..
The best drastic action you can take is lose the weight first.. I had to loose 50KG before my man boobs were totally gone, now to get rid of my fat legs although I think they are big cause of muscle in the thighs and the little bit of fat sticking out of my belly. Stop drinking so much. Water is your friend bland I know, but it's pretty much all I drink unless I go out on the weekend and I'm doing fine!
It takes getting used to but water is awesome. Still eat steak, but not the fat on the outside, just the meat. Go do some serious cardio. You can do these anywhere! And don't cheat, do them properly. Get an 'outdoors' sort of dog like a border collie or something. Hard to imagine you being overweight with those stats. If you are relatively skinny and have moobs, then as previously stated it might be actual breast tissue as opposed to fat.
If this is the case you will need surgery to have them removed, there is no other way. If you have a bit of a belly too though, then eat healthy and exercise to lose the belly. If the tits are still there by the time the belly goes, then I'm afraid you will need to talk to your GP about having your breasts surgically removed.
I used to past tense work out a lot when younger and it's just the general rule that some people don't get that cut defined look on the chest no matter what they do. No atter how many press ups and flys. It can be genetics that even at a good weight your chest can be a tad 'booby' or you can naturally be barrel chested. I think I could wear my mums bra due to no longer working out after a few injuries.
Haha, I'm pretty sure that some people with self-confidence issues have even done that. I know some people who just do it for kicks. You can't get rid of them from diet alone, they are real breasts like what women have, caused by the male hormone testosterone being converted to the female oestrogen in abdominal fat. Sorry guys its not because of lazyness or being fat and pushups wont make any difference may make visually worse if you build up muscle behind the breast tissue so yeah If you however do have a bad diet of course that is not good but a separate issue.
Thought i'd dig up this old thread to ask if anyone has had surgery to get rid of this embarrassing problem. How did the surgery go? How was the recovery? Did you see a Plastic, Cosmetic, General surgeon Are you happy with the results? As usual of course asking your doctor really is the best course of action. No point in having surgery if 6 — 12 months of hard work will achieve the same results especially with all of the other benefits that come with weight loss.
There's a way to tell if it's actually gynocomastia — in my case I could feel a lump, and it was sore and tender. It actually hurt like hell to sleep with any pressure on that side GC can be one-sided or both sides. The ultrasound clearly indicated GC and the doctor initially recommended surgery but then he had another thought.
If the GC is from an eostrogen excess, it can sometimes be reversed with testosterone supplements. The problem is that taking testosterone often raises blood pressure and mine was already high. I tried the testosterone for a while and it did shrink the lump and resolve the soreness. Eventually my BP did go high, so now I just run a low dose of the testosterone supplements just to ensure the growth doesn't come back. If you don't have the soreness, chances are it's just fat.
That's good, because it's easier to get rid of fat than it is to get rid of actual breast tissue. The gland has to be cut out and cardio wont get rid of it. And doing bench press and other exercises to make pecs chest bigger will only make the gyno stand-out and look strange once the chest fat is gone due to cardio and pec growth kind of makes it push out, as seen on bodybuilders who have gyno.
On another thread I listed some details and youtube uploads of a surgeon who is quite affordable in Australia QLD: You may have gynocomasteia..
Body builders get this sometimes. Aswell as breast buds that never went away for unknown reasons as a child during puberty. Simple cut job procedure will get rid of it. Its actually gland and not fat and it is white in colour, where as fat is yellow in colour. Usually caused by a hormonal imbalance as well from diet etc.
