I still don't totally understand why they showed Goku blocking Jiren casually while laughing. It doesn't seem in Jiren's character to not attack for real, given that he pummeled blue Goku from the very start of their first fight. I noticed the UI music played when Vegeta got the first hit on Jiren, Is that the first time its played when there isnt someone actually using it?
Probably reading to much into it. I also thought it was a great line so it's been memorable to me, although I'm quite sure I'd rewatched it sometime since childhood. It's not necessarily a good thing that I have a good memory for that, if that comes instead of remembering 'important' old things. It's also interesting how such memorable lines were comparably delivered in the Japanese version. I'm pretty big on Japanese now, and wasn't at all as a child.
This episode was bad, just like the whole arc and the series was. I know we all realized this but i geuss everyone is ignoring that goku has infinite stamina. Vegeta looks so bad when doing final flash he looks nowhere near as awesome as he looked in dbz.
The only good part of their fight was when jiren after taking that final flash head on he went and hit vegeta with an energy blast.
That scene was good in animation and showed slight suspense. Other than that the whole arc was shit was some highlights loke goku vs kefla and gomu vs jiren although both of those scenes were also bad, but not as bad as the reast of the tournament of power episode.
Another thing is i hate how they are overusing frieza transformation animation, things like that are supposed to be a one time thing or once every arc idk tbh but they kept using it in tournament of power its cringy now.
Not to mention that the commentary of the gods and the defeated participants are so cringy just make them shut up, we dont need whise to keep saying that goku is breaking his limits, we all know thats bullshit cuz his stamina should be depleted by now. I really hate how they ruined dbs.
I know dbz had many flaws, but the feeling of suspense and the unpredictability of the series made for an awesome anime that many people liked despite its inconsistencies. But dbs is just inconsistant, boring, predictable as fuck, and there is no feeling of suspense or urgency in the anime.
There is nothing wrong with having an opinion but I massively disagree with you, I don't know what on earth you have been watching but Dragon Ball super is amazing. How can you say Goku and Jiren's first fight was bad as well as Goku and Kefla's fight.
No one is ignoring Goku has 'infinite stamina' because he dosen't have infinite stamina in the first place. It is clear that Goku has really good stamina. The commentary can be annoying at times but only from the defeated fighters.
I'm sure the majority of us are interested to hear what whis and Beerus have to say. If you don't appreciate Dragon Ball returning after 18 years then don't watch, simple. Im watching dbs just cuz of the db in it. And regarding goku and jirens fight, yes it was amazing in terms of animation, but thats where its stops. The explanation behind gokus transformation is stupid. What so shoukd we jsut throw a spirit bomb on vegita and hell awaken ultra instinct, it just doesnt make sense.
Amd the problem is they use whis to explain it to us so it can seem amazing when its not. It jsut a badly though out explanation. As for goku vs kefla, the fact the kefla even came anywhere close to beating ssj god goku is stupid.
Yes the fight amazing, but little details such as bad power scaling just ruins it. And as for your point on gokus really good stamina, i dont think someone who has been beaten down 2 times, ate a spirit bomb to the face, fought multiple battles has a good stamina, i think thats just the writers trying to give excuses so goku can have more screen time. Not to mention that the whole tournament of power arc kept forcing u7 vs u jiren. Literally most of the universes losses seemed so force like that rat god of destruction.
Listen in the end we all have opinions, but im not enjoying it because of these flaws. Goku had a higher level of power in him.
He awakened this power when he gave it his all to survive the Spirit Bomb explosion. I don't see how that's any worse of an explanation than your usual rage boost transformations. I'm not even gonna touch the whole powerscaling shit because I personally couldn't care less. To be honest, I didn't like this episode for how much of a repeat it was from the Cell Saga just after Cell becomes perfect. Not the whole thing, but during and after his Final Flash.
It seemed watered down. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I really respected how long his first ever Final Flash was. Defeated and broken he rises slowly, looking as if he snapped and summons everything into one attack that causes storms around him, creates huge waves, high winds in places not even close to him.
In DBS, he charges up for a few moments, everyone talks about how big his energy gets and he shoots. Vegeta laughs immediately, basking in glory that isn't actually there and letting his guard down.
