HGH ! Is it good or bad? [Archive] - United Subang Jaya Web Forum
Is it good or bad? Quite recently, there has been lots of promotion on this thing called HGH in the name of biotech! What is HGH Human growth homones - is it good and safe? What does it do, and is there any scientific research done to claim that it is safe?
Is any of these thing being put into animal feeds and human foods? This stuff is damned expensive weight for weight more than diamonds!! It is supposed to be used only on children who are not growing well because of lack of growth hormone. If some MLM fellas are promoting it I am sure it is fake since supply is very limited.
I remember its something that stimulates our pituary gland to produce growth homones like a young 20 yr old do. I believe its for those in their mid forties and up, less wrinkles, less white hair, plus other "good for you" stuff. Does one wonder what happen when we stop taking it, do we age back, do we accelarate the ageing.?
She suggested that those who are interested in HGH, to check out Yahoo's chat group. This is what she wrote: This is where I get educated abt it! Yes, it is very expensive - the last time I bought it in one ampoule of 16iu if I am not mistaken costs RM when bought from Universiti Hospital, and the pharmaceutical company sells it at cost to UH who on-sells it to the user at no extra margin.
With the depreciation of the Ringgit, the cost may have gone up substantially now. A child with growth hormone deficiency uses one ampoule which is self-injected, very much like a diabetic injects insulin once every 3 or 4 days depending on the child's body mass. I don't think supply is that limited - I'm sure it can be bought and used for "rejuvenation" purposes if one is willing to pay the price.
However, I think the dosage used for this purpose is a lot lower than that used to treat children with growth hormone deficiency. If you do a search, you will find a thousand-and-one sites talking about this thingy called "HGH", and the lists just goes on-and-on. Just for discussion sake, here is one extracted from just one of them Rejuvenates your Body and Mind! HGH human growth hormone, also called somatropin, is produced in the anterior of the pituitary gland inside the brain, it is one of the most abundant hormones secreted.
It influences the growth of cells, bones, muscles and organs through out the body. Hormone production peaks at adolescence when accelerated growth occurs. Daily secretion declines with age. For example a 20 year old may secrete 4 to 5 times more of the growth hormone than a 60 year old. Clinical studies suggest that symptoms associated with aging may be due to the decline of growth hormone levels in our bodies.
HGH is vital in helping prevent the aging process. While many of these hormones can be replaced to deter some of the effects of aging, human growth hormone reaches far beyond the scope of any of these hormones. Growth hormone not only prevents biological aging, it promotes weight loss, builds muscle mass, improves memory, significantly enhances sex drive, increases energy and many other symptoms associated with aging. Maybe is not expensive compared to what was mentioned by kcchia.
To say that the product is fake, or not effective - how to find out? What is shocking is that these can be purchased freely. But what are the dangers if any? Moreover, there are so many types of HGH. There are more and more MLMs etc There might see some effect in their early stage, but who knows what could happen later Your guess is as good as mine Hormones in our body are well regulated for a purpose. If they really work, then there will be fewer old, wrinkled and aged people!
I think they oversell that HGH product, if they say it will slow down your ageing, perhaps, I might beleive it. I am confused a bit here, please comment if you can shoot me too, I dont mind Definately no, i think you are refering to genetically modified food like corn which are being used primarily to make animal feed and also for human consumption.
As far as I know, pharmaceutical grade HgH is classified in Malaysia and can only be sold on a doctor's prescription. It is also an unstable product that has to be kept refrigerated but not frozen all the time. It is sometimes used illicitly as a performance enhancer by professional athletes - remember the incident some years back where a swimmer from China was stopped at an Australian airport enroute to a major swim meet because she was carrying HgH? There are risks involved when using HgH.
I remember being told by a doctor that because HgH, amongst other things, promotes cell growth there is a very small risk that it is not differential in its effects, i. I am sure that if HgH is really the "fountain of youth", the pharmaceutical companies would have ramped up production and their advertising agencies would be working overtime touting its benefits. No way would they have allowed the MLMs into their turf!
Unless, they know that the cost of product liability is inhibitively high Excessive growth hormone production in adults causes acromegaly look up in the internet for full details.
Basically the bones become thickened cannot grow any more once the growth plate is closed , including the skull, which would compress your brain, all tissues would enlarge, including muscles which is why athletes take it , voice box voice changes etc. It can also cause diabetes. But not any doctor would simply prescribe it.
Usually only paediatric endocrinologist dealing with disorders of hormones in childhood would venture to use this "wonder drug". I suggest everybody else stay away. I guess me confused liao!
On the one hand, we have one that's of controlled grade - to be prescribed by the growth specialist - the endocrinologist. But, on the other hand, we have one which is freely available - non prescription stuff for the anyone who wants to 'look young', 'feel yount', 'perform like a teen' It was mentioned that as one age, the release of these hormones by the pituitary glands begin to slow down.
Not everybody knows how this thing works. Whether they are safe or not? Some just don't believe in these HGH. The older generation probably have not heard about these a recent discovery - but they do have theirs wonder if it works passed down thru the generations.
Whether, this is safe or not - is still too early to tell, I guess? Depending on the product, some claim they can make one look younger than one's biological age. If it does what it claims - is that oversell? That's what some of them claims at least. Here is what it says: With Human Growth Hormones you can help slow down the aging process happening within your body.
